Open conversation for all membersAbout Sophia Commons
Sophia Commons is a free, community-maintained directory for the anthroposophical world: Waldorf schools, biodynamic farms, Camphill communities, anthroposophic medicine, eurythmy, study groups and more, in one place.
What's on the site
The directory
More than 4,500 organizations in 77 countries: Waldorf and Steiner schools, kindergartens and teacher trainings, biodynamic and Demeter farms, Camphill communities and curative education, anthroposophic doctors, clinics and therapists, eurythmy schools and ensembles, Christian Community congregations, anthroposophical societies and branches, eldercare, and a new science and technology section. Each listing has its contact details and, where we could find one, a picture. You can browse by category or region, see everything on the world map, or use "Find near me" to sort listings by distance. Open the Directory to start, or try the links to related directories on that page.
News and events
The News & Events page brings together news from the movement and a shared calendar of conferences, courses, study groups, webinars and the festivals of the year. Every event can be added to your own Google, Outlook, Microsoft 365 or Apple calendar with one click. Members of the School of Spiritual Science will find First Class gatherings under Blue Card Holders on the Groups & Circles page.
Podcasts and media
Podcasts & Media follows about 70 anthroposophical YouTube channels and checks them every day for new videos. The newest one shows up on the home page as the video of the day. You can rate and review the channels, and you'll also find podcasts, video archives and the movement's accounts on X.
Books and library
Books & Library lists all of Rudolf Steiner's written works (GA 1 to 28) with links to read them free online, a Top 50 reading list with covers, a section on The Philosophy of Freedom with its translations and study guides, and close to 400 titles by Steiner and the authors who built on his work, from Sergei Prokofieff to Paul Emberson. Amazon links help keep the site free.
Daily practice
The right-hand column carries the week's verse from the Calendar of the Soul, the day's exercise from "For the Days of the Week", the Foundation Stone Meditation and the phases of the moon. They change on their own as the days and weeks go by.
Blog, In Memoriam and community chat
The blog publishes articles and reflections from members. In Memoriam remembers the people who carried anthroposophy forward, and you can add a tribute for someone you knew. Community Chat is a place for members to talk with each other.
